a father's day wishlist

Monday, 15 June 2015

i put together this father's day wish list aiming to transcend ages with items for both new dads and old men (a plus for me is that jack likes all the items on this list, and truly he is an old man at heart).

whilst putting it together, it got me thinking a bit more about my relationship with my dad and what i would truly like to give him for father's day. of course all of these items are pretty cool, but more than anything i would like to give him some memories for us both to share and cherish for years to come.

we have quite a disjointed relationship and i don't see or speak him as often as i probably should. so it thought it would be good for us to be stock with each other for a few weeks, to open up to each other. a while back, i started thinking about walking the camino de santiago with him. it is also known as st james's way in english. the pilgrimage route takes you to the shrine of the apostle st james the great in the cathedral of santiago de compostela in galicia in north west spain. traditionally the pilgrimage starts from your home, and as my dad lives in the south west of france, the route would quickly take us into spain. let's see if i get my act together and approach my dad with the idea.

have you shared a special experience with your dad that you hold dear? i would love to hear about it.
