outdoors wishlist

our family is passionate about the outdoors and any occasion is good for a dip in the water or a walk on the beach. but sometimes when the temperature has dropped and rain is pouring, the motivation to get out there can easily dissipate by a look out the window.

this outdoors list is what will get me out. if i feel comfortable, warm and dry in the clothes i am wearing, i shouldn't be able to find any excuses not to get out. this list contains a few items i already own and love (in italic), and a few i am planning to get soon. i picked them because they are versatile, light and practical.

a. finisterre merino wool base layer bundle  naturally anti-bacterial, breathable and body regulating.

b. finisterre beanie  i often find an umbrella irritating and unreliable, so if it's a bit wet and cold, i like to wear a beanie, it keeps my fringe in place and keeps me nice and cosy.

c. patagonia torrent shell — my next purchase to complement my down jacket, on sale at the moment here.

d. rab gloves — when it gets very cold you'll be thankful to have a good pair of gloves at hand.

e. camelbak water bottle — a study showed that people using bottles from this range drink up to 24% more water than when they use other reusable bottles or disposable plastic bottles, so if you struggle to keep hydrated this bottle may be the answer. it is bpa-free but they also make a glass version if you don't like plastic.

f. patagonia down jacket  my best recent buy, the down fill helps regulate your body temperature, it also folds into its inside pocket, which is brilliant for travelling, on sale at the moment here.

g. mountain warehouse head torch   just in case you get lost along the way.

h. reebok trainers  i bought these a couple of weeks ago and already love them! i have to admit i fell for the colour, i am slightly obsessed with it. they are extremely light, perfect for training or simply going for a run. plus they are half price at the moment here, everyone loves a bargain.

i. topo design backpack — if you need a day pack, which isn't too big or too small and waterproof with a laptop sleeve this is the one.

j. finisterre shirt — a pretty and comfortable shirt in case we decide to stop at the coffee shop on our way home.

what are your outdoors essentials? is there any outdoor brand you're particularly fond of?
