morocco

taking a break before christmas never sounds like a bad idea. with all the build-up and commotion that comes every festive season, it's sometimes nice to remember what the holidays are all about. a couple of weeks ago, the seven of us  eve's boyfriend ed came along jumped on a plane to morocco. jack and his dad have been a few times before and have always come back with great stories from there adventures. staying in a hotel in agadir meant that we had all of the comforts of home — and more  but were only twenty minutes away from the madness of taghazout's surf scene. we followed the same routine everyday, met for breakfast at nine and drove up the coast to check the surf. we hung out on beaches named devil's rock, banana point, panorama, anchor point, or spiders, chat with people selling everything from camel rides to donuts and jewellery on the beach and get back towards the end of the afternoon to freshen up and grab a few drinks at the hotel's bar. we visited the souk mid-week, jack stocked up on spices and i got earrings and a bracelet at friday morning's artisan market in taghazout. whenever we go on family holidays, sadie always asks us what was the best part of our day at the dinner table. highlights included sadie getting fined for speeding by the moroccan police, playing with stray puppies at anchor point, collecting shells on the beach with mai and getting an argan oil massage at the spa.
the week went by quickly and we were taking the long drive back to cornwall before we knew it.
